I achieved everything I wanted — then I stopped sleeping
Welcome to The Slow Down Letters — for ambitious women who are exhausted but wired, and ready to rest without falling behind.
Hi, I’m Wis.
I’m an Easeful Living Mentor and certified sleep consultant, based in Sweden. And this is the start of something I’ve wanted to build for a long time.
Let me tell you how I got here.
For eight years I was in a toxic relationship. When I finally found the courage to leave at the age of 25, I didn’t gently rebuild — I went straight to 180 miles an hour. I bought my own apartment and gutted it. Moved in alone for the first time. Travelled the world. Decided I wanted a high-paying job and landed it a year later. Started a gut-healing protocol. Trained hard for the body I’d always wanted. All at once.
That’s when my sleep started to disappear.
I didn’t slow down. I’d got the job, and I was going to prove I deserved it. But I couldn’t take care of myself anymore — I ended up selling the apartment and moving back in with my mom. I made a lot of money trading and investing, and lost a lot too. I achieved everything I’d set out to. And I felt completely empty.
Here’s the distinction I hold onto, because it matters: burnout stole my sleep. I didn’t neglect it out of carelessness. I took it for granted while I chased everything else at once.
Then I met my now-husband, and I finally started to heal. To slow down. I left the high-paying job — not so someone could take care of me, but so I could build my own thing. Now I work a more intentional 9–5 and run my business alongside it. My days are slow and steady. I ask myself what I actually want, and I give myself that. I don’t rush, because I believe everything comes in divine timing.
This space — The Slow Down Letters — is where all of that lives now.
It’s for the woman who’s exhausted but wired. Who wakes at 3am with her mind already racing. Who’s achieved so much and secretly just wants permission to slow down without falling behind. If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
Here’s what to expect. Two letters a week. On Wednesdays, something useful — sleep, the nervous system, slow living, ambition without the burnout. On Sundays, something softer — a reflection from my week, a thought on healing and slowing down. No fixed rules beyond that. Just honesty, woman to woman.
I’m so glad you’re here. If any of this feels like it was written for you, subscribe and come along — the rest unfolds from here.
With warmth, Wis
Someone who truly gets it 🌙
